while the mannequins are very prominent in the window display against the white background, the actual woman is hidden against the dark entrance. capitalism powers over the ideals of conservatism. the composition can be interpreted as a reflection on conservative islamic society and how it is intermingling with the western world.

nice work!

Hi Timmy, thank's for your comment :) I really tried to frame it as two different worlds even though their're very close in their meanings.

:D this photo was taken on green street, which is an area occupied by pakistani and indian muslim community that's why they have these kind of shops there :)

yes, we have Pakistani and Indian community too... actually couple blocks away from my home... but their boutiques show very colorful dresses (you know - with pants and scarfs)...I've seen women in black but never seen these clothes for sale... I thought they order them in special sewing studios :)

Oh my.....

The height of color and fashion.
The one in the center there looks *really* daring.

Yes, and colorful (I'm guessing through the B&W filter...)

Funny taking a photo of those black outfits in B&W...

I wonder, if you were in a different country, where Rules were more strictly enforced, if such a brazen display of clothing (not to mention, photography of said clothing) would even be tolerated.

Great image, BTW.  Great contrast between the deep blacks and brilliant whites.

thank you :) I cannot actually imagine how would it look in colour, it would probably look very similar with yellowish tones :)
